Pointe Lézarde is dived from Grande Anse d’Arlet. It is a rocky spine, a ridge dropping beyond forty metres, and one of our busiest sites.
A ridge, not a plateau
The relief here is vertical. You do not fly over a bottom, you follow a blade of rock going down. That changes how you dive: you pick your depth by placing yourself higher or lower on the ridge, and everyone sees the same thing from their own floor.
It is also what concentrates the life. A lone ridge out in the blue draws in everything passing by.

What you will meet
- Dense shoals of large porgies.
- Turtles.
- Lobsters tucked into the cracks in the rock.
- A great deal else, circling the spine.
Why the fish gather here
An isolated relief in open blue works as a rallying point. The current runs into it, plankton concentrates, small fish follow, and large fish follow the small. That is why a rocky spine is almost always richer than a flat bottom at the same depth.
