Îlet Ramier is a small islet set in the heart of a protected nature reserve. It faces Anse à l’Âne, where a good share of our outings begin.

A site shared between tank and snorkel

It is one of the rare setups where divers and non-divers can go out together. The area suits a scuba dive as well as a mask-and-snorkel exploration.

In practice, nobody stays ashore: whoever is not diving puts on a mask and sees a good part of what the others see, in the first few metres where the light is best.

What a protected area means

A reserve does not forbid you from coming, it frames how you come. You look, you take nothing, you touch no coral, you feed no animal.

Anchoring is regulated too: an anchor dropped on coral destroys in one second what took decades to grow. Protected areas provide moorings for that.
