The Little Mermaid
A coral plateau between three and fifteen metres, with its tunnel
The Little Mermaid is a coral plateau sitting between three and fifteen metres. In that little water the site brings together a coral garden, a reef fringe, a drop-off, crevices and a small tunnel.
Everything, within fifteen metres
That is what sets the site apart: it needs no depth to offer the full variety of a Caribbean reef. Where other sites make you go down to see something else, this one gives everything in the first few metres.
The practical result is a longer dive. At five metres a cylinder easily lasts an hour, against some twenty minutes at forty. On this site, you have time.
The small tunnel
It is short, and that is what makes it valuable: you can see the exit from the entrance. It is the ideal passage for a diver who has never been through a tunnel and wonders what it feels like.
A first passage is always made accompanied, unhurried, keeping room above you. After that one, the next ones hold no fear.
