Pointe Burgos South is the southern face of the same headland. You find the same overall layout, the point around thirty metres and the sheer wall below it, approached from the other side.

This is the site our records also call Burgos sud. We come here more often than to the headland itself.

Why two faces make two dives

On a headland the current arrives from one side and wraps around. The exposed face takes the plankton-rich water, the sheltered face offers calm. Fish spread themselves accordingly, and the relief itself wears differently.

That is why we count two sites where the chart shows one: the same point, two dives that do not resemble each other.

Choosing on the day

Which face to dive is decided in the morning, looking at the sea. That is exactly the kind of call the dive director makes, and it is what a club that knows its sites brings beyond a chart.
